To make the most mouth watering fried turkey, follow these instructions:

Caution: When using open flame and hot oil, follow all manufacturer warnings and directions to make your event a safe success!

What You Will Need:

A.) 3-4 gallons peanut oil
B.)Wicker's Marinade of your choice
C.)1-Medium sized turkey 13-15#
D.)plasic trash bag (doubled) to hold turkey and marinade.
E.)Propane and heating element system
F.)1-thermometer (candy or the thermometer that comes with the turkey frying kit)

To Marinade Turkey:

Clean and rinse a turkey that is fresh or thawed. Remove kidneys and neck bones from inside turkey.

Place turkey inside flexible plastic bag. Double to prevent a leak in the first bag. (You do not want to spill this in your refrigerator!)Add enough Wicker's to cover the turkey. Seal top and place turkey in refigerator overnight. Turn occasionally.

To Fry The Turkey:

Remove turkey from the plastic bag! Discard marinade.

Heat the oil to 375 degrees. Add the turkey to the hot oil per the manufacturers instructions. Be very careful in this process as the oil tends to erupt when the water in the turkey comes in contact with the hot oil.

Cook turkey for 3 minutes per pound for a medium turkey. About 5 minutes longer than above for a larger turkey; a few minutes less for a smaller turkey. Turkey should cool the oil to about 350 degrees. Hold at that temperature.

Remove turkey after the appropriate cooking time. Let the turkey stand for about 30 minutes before slicing. The turkey can be "picked-on" minutes after frying.

With Wicker's the art of turkey frying is a snap! Wicker's never "masks" the flavor of turkey! For more Southwest flavor, try Wicker's Hickory or Mesquite flavored marinade.

This marinading technique works great with BBQ'd turkey on the grill or in the oven!
