Tamper Resistant, for Baroque Chamber GroupTamper Resistant was commissioned in 1996 for American Baroque as part of the Common Sense Composers' 3rd Annual Collaboration Project. Dan (a member of the faculty of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music) describes his piece: "A cover tune. Telemann's music (the Vivace from his G major Quartet in Tafelmusik I) is treated like silly putty; twisted, stretched, and shaped into a minimalist image of itself." But Telemann's music ("Tamper Resistant") survives in this spirited "discourse between past and present". Dan also is responsible for "tampering" with the similarly resistant image of Vermeer's "Lady Seated at the Virginals" which forms the cover of the edition, as well as the cover of the CD "The Shock of the Old" (Santa Fe New Music SFNM CD000513), in which the piece is performed. For Baroque instruments (flute, violin, oboe, bass viola da gamba and harpsichord). Score and parts: $20.00Our Price: $20.00
