Volume 3 (the "blue" volume: the seven volumes are in rainbow order) includes 12 cantatas; seven for soprano, five for alto voice. Six of them call for oboe and violin, the other six for trumpet (or oboe) and violin. The "trumpet" cantatas include a charming one for Christmas Day, rousing ones to celebrate the Feast of St. Michael and the Ascension, and a battle with an evil serpent in the one for Easter Sunday.
