Variations for Piano

The piano teacher of Peter Ballinger's 18-year-old daughter brought home a melody by one of her fellow students. The teacher had asked all of his other students to write a variation. With Beethovenian hubris (alla Diabelli), but certainly without his skill, Peter wrote 11 variations of his own. They present the theme in a number of styles, from Bach to 1985. They are amusing and perhaps educational.
