Four Nocturnes for HarpsichordPeter Michaelides was born in Greece, received his master's degree from Oberlin and a doctorate from USC, where he studied with Halsey Stevens; he is a former professor of composition and theory at the University of N. Iowa at Cedar Falls. Since 1992 he has lived in Santa Fe, NM as a free-lance composer. Four Nocturnes was composed for the 1997-8 Santa Fe Pro Musica concert series, and performed by Kathleen McIntosh.
